Therese draws on decades of experience in every sector of higher education to help educational institutions respond to a changing landscape and plan for a successful future.

Therese has devoted her career to education, with more than 30 years of service to colleges, universities, education-focused nonprofits, and education consulting providers. She loves that education is a truly life-changing field that often has a transformational impact on students. Most recently, she served as president of Oak Point University, where she oversaw 1000% growth in student enrollment over eight years. Therese has worked for a wide variety of sizes of institutions, as well as in every sector of higher education, giving her a broad perspective on the many ways schools can change or approach situations differently.

After providing services to HB Consulting as an independent contractor, Therese joined the company full time in 2025. She consults with higher education clients of all sizes and types—from public to private to nonprofit to for-profit to faith-based—and supports them in planning for a sustainable future. Therese is excited to draw on lessons learned throughout her career to help institutions respond to a changing landscape better than they could alone. Her consulting is deeply future-oriented, with a focus on how to handle change both in the short and long term, as well as on growth strategies, mergers, and affiliations. Her time at Oak Point gave her hands-on experience with rapid growth in an institution, as well as with the change of control process.

Clients value that Therese appreciates and identifies with their educational mission, while simultaneously understanding practical business concerns. She knows that institutions must know their business, know their costs, and know the needs of the workforce so that they can not only meet standards, but truly thrive. Therese offers pragmatic guidance to help schools turn their visions into reality.
